Salman Khan is truly a rock star!! Whenever I watch him talking to media, the sight really amuses me, He comes up with the weirdest of answers, but then there are very rare people who speak from the heart on national television! Anyways, let’s start his relationship with Badshah Shahrukh Khan.

Salman Khan versus Shahrukh Khan

There was a time when for Salman Khan, love was in the air, and with love came the possessiveness, (typical Bollywood masala, isn’t it?). He gate-crashed on the sets of Chalte Chalte, to check on his girl Aishwariya Rai.

But, in that fiasco, he lost a friend in Shahrukh Khan. Yes, this was just the beginning, because after this incident they stopped speaking to each other. Ash was out of the film and later her relationship with Salman also broke up!

So Shahrukh Khan and Salman were standing like two pillars, not ready to talk, the Karan-Arjun of Bollywood was separated. Until at last, at choreographer-turned-director Farah Khans wedding they wept, kissed and made up for the four year long fight!

But but but, the nasty comments still havent stopped. When Hanuman and Don were releasing on the same day, and SRK was asked about the clash of Khans, he answered that he knows only two Khans, one changes and other Shahrukh Khan ! Who was he trying to ignore, I wonder?

On the other hand when asked about Don overpowering Jaaneman, Sallu replied that Shahrukh has the abilities to promote his films well. So, the cold war for these titans is on, and will go on. For some, King Khan is the real Khan, while for some Salman rules! It’s upto you to decide.

Salman Khan versus Akshay Kumar

You call it Jodi No 1,coz it churns out good money at the box office. But, real life says something else. Their chemistry may be rocking at the box office, and leaving people on the edge of their seat, but the truth is that, in real life, there is some kind of friction between both of them. They are friends, but like any other two people in the industry.

Moreover, during the shooting of Jaan-e-mann, a fiasco is supposed to have happened, with Salman Khan and Mrs. Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna, supposedly getting cozy in a discotheque (I wonder how much of this is true) and Akshay Kumar landing at Salmans place for clarification. But, the actors are so professional that they don’t let those emotions show in any of their performances.

Salman Khan versus Aamir Khan

Have we ever heard of anything friction between these two? Actually no. Undoubtedly “Andaz Apna Apna” is still a hit, Salman and Aamirs chemistry was rocking, and believe me, many people are still waiting to see this pair together again. But I wonder now, will they be friends, or will the competition of being The Biggest Khan become bigger than the film?

Salman Khan versus John Abraham

This is the most interesting chapter. After a fiasco at the Rock Star World Tour, which they did together, they were quoted as openly passing snide comments about each other. But, to my surprise, Salman commented on Johns lean look, and John replied. Well, they are now trying to connect to each other through media, but the truth is both the Babul stars, simply cant see eye to eye.

A friend of mine recently shot with actor Shiny Ahuja for his film KHOYA KHOYA CHAND (earlier named Bahut Nikle Mere Armaan, but changed to Khoya Khoya Chand after the Producer Prakash Jha and Director Sudhir Mishra fiasco). My friend told me the other side of this good looking man!

Did you know that Shiny, besides being an actor, is a very good singer and a trained classical vocalist? Not only this, he has a huge interest in Poetry and loves organizing mehfils.

Hes not like other sundry stars, flashing his stardom in peoples faces. Hes too down-to-earth and mingles with very few people, because of his shy and reticent nature. But once he is comfortable with you, he leaves no stone unturned to spend that quality time with you!

But being a woman, I was put off with rumours of his love-life. Of course, after Woh Lamhe I confess to have developed a crush on him. But this man is married! And don’t have illusions - it’s not a short one or two year old marriage, but a long association!

His wife lives in New York. Her name is Anu Ahuja, and what one hears from Shiny is just good and wise for her. After all shes been the inspiration behind this mans great success in films.

But what about the crush so many women had on him? His smile has charmed so many damsels, so what should they do? Well, I recommend they go and buy a box of tissues to cry into. Coz this man is hooked and already booked for this lifetime!

Hey pals, time for some spicy and juicy tit bits. A little birdie told me that, after Umrao Jaan, Guru, Dhoom 2 and Sarkar 2, Aishwariya and Abhishek are going to get together again for some Yash Raj’s flick.

Well, Well, Well, that’s not all. Rohan Sippy is also planning to cast this couple in his next (after AB’s Baby helped Aishwarya and Rohan Sippy’s resumed their relationship, one hears Ash has been continuously sending him messages about her whereabouts).

Well, that’s great news, but the question actually is “Is Aishwarya Rai short of co €œstars? The answer is YES!

If you look back, shes acted in the maximum number of films opposite Ajay Devgan (who is apparently planning to take the directors seat in his next home production, where he will be cast opposite Ash, again)

Apart from Ajay and Abhishek whos left. She cant work with Shahrukh Khan after the Chalte Chalte fiasco. For ignorants, her ex-boyfriend Salman Khan created a ruckus on the sets of that film, while she was acting with SRK, and Rani came to the rescue of SRK’s home production. So Salman is complete NO, NO!

I don’t think her charm would work on perfectionist, Aamir Khan. The chemistry fizzled out with Sanjay Dutt in Shabd. And dont you even think of Vivek Oberoi!

Saif Ali Khan and her really cant be a pair. With Hrithik, apart from Dhoom 2 , Ashutosh Gowarikar is trying to experiment in Akbar Jodha. Lets see what the results are.

But but but , the question is why is everyone casting her only with Beau Abhishek? Or is it Abhishek who is pushing for her? Well, we leave that for you to decide¦

Today while reading Jhumpa Lahiri’s book, The Namesake, I was really impressed by her take on pet names. She writes, “Pet names are a persistent remnant of childhood, a reminder that life is not always so serious, so formal, so complicated. They are a reminder, too, that one is not all things to all people”

So I thought why not reveal to my readers what I know about the pet names of celebrities today. Lets start with one of our favorites, Salman Khan, whom the world calls Sallu,

But oh, the irony of it all. His ex€œgirlfriend Aishwarya Rai’s pet name is Gullu! Well, this Sallu€œGullu affair is now over so lets not actually talk about it!

I loved Hrithik Roshans pet name, which is Duggu, coz his daddy is called Guddu. Wow, what a lovely combination!

Anyways, lets talk now about our Bong Bombshell Bipasha Basu, whose parents love calling her Bonny. Isnt that chweet??

And how can we forget our sweet Kapoor sisters. Kareena is called Bebo and Karishma is called Lolo. When you talk about Kareena Kapoor, boyfriend Shahid has to follow. His family and friends call him Sasha, and his sweet lil bro calls him Sash bhai.

Aamir Khan is truly one of his kind, so his pet name is anything but common. His friends call him AK. Shahrukh Khan doesn’t have a specific pet name but Juhi Chawla loves calling him Lucky Ali, because she believes hes a fluke! Ahhmmmm!

Did you know that Madhuri Dixit’s pet name is Bubbly? I thought this name suited our bubbly Preity Zinta better, but anyways.

Amisha’s pet name is Sunshine, because her parents and friends felt that she was like Sunshine for them. Poor things didn’t know that this sunshine would set the sun of their life (don’t take that seriously, folks. Im just kidding).

That Govinda is called Chi Chi everyone knows, but did you know that he hates this name? The Deol bros are known by their pet names, Sunny and Bobby, but theyre otherwise known as Ajay Singh Deol and Bobby Singh Deol.

Not many know that that Bobby’s best friend, Akshay Kumars real name is Rajeev Bhatia, and he was called Raju among his friends. He adopted Akshay, aka Akki, as his screen name.

While everyone calls Sunil Shetty, Anna, Sanjay Dutt’s name is Sanju. Abhishek Bachchans pet name has to be Abhi, as Dad Amitabh is called Amit.

But the funniest and most interesting name has to be Aftab Shivdasani’s. Hes called Faff. Maybe he used to faff a lot as kid!! Jokes apart, these were just a few of your fave Bolywood stars pet names, and we will keep you posted on others too!

It’s nice to hear that our film industry is capable of coming up with interesting concepts sometimes. Like Sudhir Mishra’s next film “Bahut Nikle Mere Armaan” which is based on the story of a writer and her actress.

Because its based in the 1950’s some thought it might be a prequel to his film Hazaro Khwaishey Aisi, but it doesnt really sound like that. This film will have Shiney Ahuja and Soha Ali Khan in the lead roles.

Shiny Ahuja definitely seems to have become a Mahesh Bhatt loyalist, but he cant forget the fact that he was introduced in a much bigger way by none other than National award winning director, Sudhir Mishra, who first saw that he had potential.

But the gossip mongers won’t stop whispering about the fact that during making of Hazaro Khwaishey Aisi, Sudhir was very upset with Shiny’s philandering ways. Well, we really cant control that sort of thing, can we?

In fact, this married Shining Armor was also linked with a female director a number of times (its not hard to guess who because hes worked with only two till date). But apart from all this he has caliber and is capable of becoming one of Bollywoods finest actors.

Whether Sins was banned or created controversy, this man made his mark. He went unnoticed in the film Karam, but Hazaro Khawishey fulfilled his khwaish. He is, till date, the most good looking gangster the industry has ever seen, and his role for Mahesh Bhatt in his next film Voh Lamhe, is creating waves.

He is also paired opposite Sushmita Sen in Tanuja Chandra’s Zindaggi Rocks. No prizes for stating that hes rocking with good banners and good co -stars!

But, but, but, one should never forget where he came from. And our lil birdie tells us that this man is on seventh heaven and has let success go to his head . Well, Shiny, just remember this industry is very different.

It always salutes the rising star, but the day even one film flops, it will forget you. So, its always better to be cautious and watch your step, dont you think?

A lil birdie just told me that after watching the most entertaining film of the year, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Shahrukh Khan called up Director Raj Kumar Hirani at two a.m. and told him that he was very keen on working with him.

Raj Kumar Hirani has also received such frantic calls from Rishi Kapoor, who wants his son to be part of Raju’s film. But the strangest and most amusing one is the call from SRK.

Hirani must definitely be on cloud nine after receiving call from King Khan himself! Did you know that, when he did the first part of this series, he wanted Shahrukh for the lead role, but SRK refused due to his back surgery?

Shahrukh Khan is also going to do a little cameo in Ravi Chopra’s next film titled Bhootnath. The reason this cameo is going to be very special is because he is going to play husband to his best friend Juhi Chawla!

Yes, theyll both be back again to create the magic of Yes Boss, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman and their other films. But the lead in this film is going to be played by Ravi Chopra’s favourite, Big B.

While were talking about the Big B, Amitabh Bachchan, I hear that hes still on a signing spree. Just this morning I got the news his security has been reduced from Y to X. This Sexy Sam of Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna seems pretty cool about it.

But then he enjoyed this level of security for a very long time and hes is very happy now that all his films are being remade. In his view, ”A remake is a compliment to the original.”

We agree with you Mr. Bachchan. As they say, the Boss is always right, and we accept your verdict!

This year has been outstanding for entertainment industry, with the biggest releases in past five years. Whether it’s in terms of entertainment or revenue film fraternity has generated and made lot of money.

But, the success of these films is going to lead to a great tussle between the Superstars in terms of awards. Every year the biggest question popping into the minds of audience, as well as people in film industry is, who will bag the award for the best actor.

Though the curiosity, for female lead is not much still (one could say that female actors in Bollywood are yet to get that kind of hype). But in this year, 2006, the award functions are really going to be tough, or rather, intriguing.

If on one side we have, Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan with two releases, Rang De Basanti and Fanaa, and both of them have generated very remarkable responses, then on the other side we have Hrithik Roshan’s super hit, Krrish, and Dhoom 2 , which will be releasing in November.

We cant forget Shahrukh Khan in this race. His bag is equally full with the success of Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (KANK) and expectations from the remake of Don, “The Don !!

But, but, but, the story doesn’t end here, because its Sanjay Dutt’s Lage Raho Munna Bhai which leads the race in terms of pure entertainment value and were sure that Salman Khan is also not way back in this rat race. Hes going to rock the nation on Diwali with his release Jaaneman followed by Ravi Chopra’s Babul.

Also, we cant overlook Abhishek Bachchan whose Umrao Jaan and Guru are set to release, though his performance in KANK has won him the maximum accolades! Are we are being a little partial in ignoring Akshay Kumar, John Abraham and others who deserve their share in these awards functions? Perhaps.

Well, were still not considering the low budget films that have churned out good revenue. Now who will be the winner, that’s really a big question for Bollywood this year, no?

So now it’s Aamir v/s Shahrukh v/s Hrithik v/s Sanjay Dutt v/s Salman. Who do YOU think deserves this crown?
